We walked from Estella to Los Arcos. A relatively straight-forward walk through croplands, vineyards and orchards and two small towns.
A couple of easy 100-200 metre high hills to ascend and descend but nothing complicated.
In total we walked 22 km and completed this in 4 hours 30 mins, an average pace, door to door, inclusive of stops, of 4.8 km/hour. Our best average pace yet.
Leaving Estella, we had to climb a good sized hill to get out of town but this gave the opportunity for a wonderful view and photo opportunity.
The next highlight was a fountain. Not just an ordinary water fountain, but a wine and water fountain. We tried both, but it being 8am and the start of a 22km day, we drank more of the water than the wine.
We walked a good stretch with an English couple on their honeymoon and had an interesting chat.
The rest of the morning was spent walking and photographing.

Los Arcos is a lovely town and our hotel is ok, if a little basic.
The town has a central square where we enjoyed an afternoon resting blisters, chatting with new friends and enjoying a beer.
Tomorrow we have a longer walk to Logrono, 26km, and intend to set off early. Most likely by 6am as opposed to our normal 7:30am. The aim being to beat the heat and/or the thunderstorms. We have purchased a breakfast picnic ready for the morning.
