After a very nice evening and night at the Jakue Hotel in Puente La Reina, we set off at 7:30am for Estella.
We have consistently started our walks at 7:30am and will try to leave earlier as the walking distance increases in the coming days.
After a mild morning, it once again got very hot and we were glad to get to our destination by 1:30pm.
Overall the journey today was 23km and took just under six hours. The walk was not challenging as there were only minor hills to navigate up and down.
The country side was very pretty. Lots of ancient bridges, crops, vineyards, orchards and small villages.
We lost count of the number of different fruit trees that we saw and were amazed at the number of herbs seemingly growing wild.
The hotel, the 2 star (generous) Hotel Yerri, we are booked into is far from impressive. Small room, single beds and no air-conditioning or fan. Sorry, there is a fan but it is not working. We also found a cigarette but on our floor, which says little for the quality of the housekeeping.
For those that ever want to do the Camino Frances, I have written up our comments on all the hotels on Trip Advisor.

Given that we had arrived so early, we went
site-seeing around the town and eventually came across a cafe which specializes in promoting local produce. They were offering a degustation lunch with wine for Euro 15 per person and we thought we would try that. Well five courses later, we were very happy campers.
Tomorrow we have an approximate 21km hike to Los Arcos. The walk should be easy but we are concerned about the weather forecast which predicts morning thunderstorms.
